Yoga for Stress Relief

Guess what bunnies?! Stress is BAD. Bad bad bad bad very bad! And we collectively have it in excessive amounts at the moment, don’t we? You know how you have a picture in your head of a tall and skinny corporate woman who lives off of stress and coffee? So then you think to yourself “well, maybe all this stress will at least make me skinny”? That’s not real. That’s a picture you (and I) get from watching too much TV and reading too many books in which no one is ever regular-sized. Without going into too much detail, excessive stress causes an overproduction of a hormone called cortisol. This lovely little hormone in turn can cause a rather serious extra bit of padding around your belly. And sometimes, no matter how well you eat and how much you exercise, that excessive stress stands in the way of you reaching your weight loss goals.

So, for today, I would like you to forget about the heavy cardio workout (you can do it later if you must) and give yourself the gift of a little much needed stress relief.
