That’s right folks, the latest shake flavour to hit our shores sounds pretty freaking amazing, doesn’t it? Banana cream! And the best part? It’s vegan!
Personally I am a lover of all things banana and already I have been toying with flavour ideas. For one….Lancewood makes this yogurt with desiccated coconut in it. Imagine a banana coconut yogurt shake? YUM! Or a banana shake with frozen pineapples in it (pineapple is SO GOOD for pesky problems like water retention so I reckon it’s always good to add pineapple) or just banana shake with bananas! Or peanut butter!!

If you’re here, reading this, then it’s because you’re either involved in Herbalife or somehow directly or indirectly linked to someone who is. You might be here because December is around the corner and you’re freaking about about your summer body.
It doesn’t really matter why you are here, I’m just glad that you are.
I hope that you’ll indulge me for a moment. I would like to strip myself down a bit and allow my vulnerability to show – possibly a little too much. I just have something important to say, and it cannot be said from behind walls.
If you, yes you, are here because you are ready to make a change to your wellbeing, your health your lifestyle, I want you to do something very important for me first.
I want you to give yourself a break. Stop beating yourself up about your thighs. Stop staring at your double chin in disgusted judgement. Stop lambasting yourself for each and every perceived imperfection on your person.
You are beautiful. You truly are. The lumps and bumps are just lumps and bumps. The inability to run around the block? That’s just a weakness. So what? Your freckles. Your pale skin. Your chicken arms. Your stringy hair. Your knobbly toes. These are just things. They have no real value.
You have real value.
So just stop. Love yourself. Embrace yourself. Dare to call yourself beautiful. Give yourself a moment to really look at yourself through the eyes of an artist. You are beautiful.
Because you know what? You can keep beating yourself up about everything that’s wrong, or you can love yourself enough to start making the right choices.
Let’s start our morning with yoga because we love ourselves. Let’s go and sweat it out at Fit Club because we love ourselves. Let’s change some of the dangerously bad habits because we love ourselves.
We are indirectly taught at a young age how to submerse ourselves in self-loathing. We go from innocent children, unaware of our (mostly non-existent!) imperfections, to suddenly having to deal with the pressure of peer acceptance. For many of us this does not work out very well. Sometimes the people around us teach us very quickly how to hate ourselves, and then we spend years perfecting that art. We spend our time comparing ourselves to others, and we hardly ever allow ourselves the luxury of giving ourselves a break. We deny ourselves the joy of going to the beach because we do not approve of how we look in our bathing suits. We deny ourselves the body & soul happiness that comes from doing all sorts of things (dancing, running, going to the gym, playing sports we love) because we have learned to be afraid of making fools of ourselves. How much do we miss out on simply because we are too hard on ourselves? Because we refuse to forgive ourselves for not being perfect?
So right now…how about you and me give ourselves a break? How about we embrace our not-so-perfect thighs and baby-stretched bellies and love ourselves anyway? Because you know what? That love can play a huge role in helping us get to where we want to be.

Life in the 21st century can be pretty hectic and it’s easy to use the busyness of our lives as a reason for the fact that we are always tired. Do you ever get that? Somehow you manage a good night’s sleep but you wake up barely refreshed, so you desperately reach for that first cup of coffee? And then the first cup quickly turns into the second, the fifth, the eighth…doesn’t it?
Our lives, however, do not have to be lived through rivers of caffeine while we hold our thumbs in hope of getting through another day. Sometimes, the reasons for our relentless fatigue are quite simple, and because they stem from simple lifestyle choices, they may be remedied with equally simple changes.
Reason 1: You’re Skipping Breakfast
We’ve all been taught that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yet so few of us ensure that our morning meal is a good one. We make do with a cup of coffee and one the odd occasion indulge in a slice of toast with jam. It’s not enough. Your breakfast sets you up for the day and plays a big role in your energy levels. You need protein and healthy fats and fibre. November is upon us and I cannot help but notice that this is the time of year when many of us can’t help but fall into a massive slump. With Christmas holidays just around the corner we can’t help but feel like all we are doing is going through the motions just so that we can get to the part of the year where the beers start flowing freely and those gatherings around the braai become a daily occurrence.
With this in mind, I can’t help but wonder if this last-stretch sluggishness is not best dealt with by starting something completely different. Instead of giving up on healthy habits until the new year, why not start a new health plan today? Perhaps your soul might benefit from starting a yoga class, or a zumba class. Giving yourself something new to do at this notoriously blegh time of year can only do you good!
The alternative? You can give yourself over to six weeks of slog and effectively waste 42 precious days of your life.
So I challenge you: why not try something new instead?*
